Simkl, a web service that let you record and save all your IM chats on a secured web server, is now open to public. Simkl was in private beta since December 2007, with full support in AIM, ICQ, Yahoo and limited support for MSN except Windows Live Messenger.
Now Simkl support saving messages from Widows Live Messenger and full range of software that supports MSN protocol. It also supports most of the popular IM clients including Yahoo, AIM, Pidgin, iChat, ICQ, Trillian, and Adium. Keep in mind that many of these IM clients like Pidgin and Trillian can log your chats individually, but if you use multiple computers with different IM clients, Simkl can unify your IM logging.
What’s new in Simkl:
* Support for more than 48 messaging clients, including Windows Live Messenger and iChat
* Interactive full text search capability (now you can search your chats using an innovative way to search through all your conversations)
* Possibility to rename and delete any specific contact
* Sort your contacts by last conversation
* Simkl Tray (http://tray.simkl.com) software for history.im. Gives more ways to access your online history including the “Winkey+H” keyboard shortcut.
* New interface translations have been added.
Simkl works with almost any IM software on every possible platform with protocols AIM, ICQ, MSN and Yahoo. For more info on the Simkl, visit the Simkl Blog.
