Download Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) on Windows

After Internet Explorer 8 passed ACID2 test 2, Microsoft has announced Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) available for download and install on Windows platform. This new internet explorer 8 browser has comes with many improvements, like Facebook and eBay integration, standards compliance, and the ability to work with AJAX web pages.

Meanwhile, the new Internet Explorer 8 download is a IE8 beta version only and not final IE8. Which It's too early to judge whether IE 8 will perform well or suitable on Windows platform. But one thing for sure there are a major IE 7 update than a whole new browser itself

LIST OF NEW FEATURES IN IE 8 BETA:

1. ACTIVITIES


Activities on IE8 act as a contextual services to quickly access a service from any webpage. Activities typically involve two types of scenarios: "look up" information within a webpage or "send" web content to a web application. Plus more Activities quick acces link are a services that the user can install and manage. Users can install them from the Internet Explorer 8 Service Guide or through any website that advertises Activities.

2. WEBSLICES



WebSlices is a new feature on IE8 just like a feeds where IE8 user can subscribe services to get real time information updates and notify the user of changes by popping up.

3. FAVORITES BAR



A upgrade version IE 7 Link bar. The new favoruite bar at IE 8 will enable users to associate this bar expanded as a place to put and easily access all their favorite web content such as links, feeds, WebSlices and even Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.

Beside that, A IE8 user can easily add a link to the Favorites bar by using the Add to Favorites button and selecting the Add to Favorites Bar option.

4. AUTOMATIC CRASH RECOVERY



Automatic Crash Recovery (ACR) is a feature of Windows®Internet Explorer® 8 that can help to prevent the loss of work and productivity in the unlikely event of the browser crashing or hanging. This features is similar like Firefox restore function which provide new crash recovery capabilities, such as tab recovery, which will minimize interruptions to users’ browsing sessions.

5 . IMPROVED PHISHING FILTER

Internet Explorer 7 introduced the improvement Phishing Filter, a IE 8 feature which helps warn users when they visit a Phishing site.
